Job Description

Townsen Memorial Surgery Center is looking for an ambitious, energetic full-time Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Townsen Memorial Surgery Center in Spring, TX! The ideal candidate should be personable and a team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares and pulls instruments for cases and assist with OR room readiness
  • Knowledge of different types of sterilization materials and equipment to choose the appropriate method of sterilization for particular equipment or supplies
  • Operates sterile processing equipment (washers, steam, gas, ultrasonic and chemical sterilizers)
  • Knowledge of cleaning of patient care equipment including but not limited to IV pumps, PCAs, CPM machines, Pneumatic pumps, hypo/hyperthermia units

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge in pulling instruments for cases, excellent record keeping, knowledgeable re: state requirements, proper equipment usage, troubleshooting of the SPD equipment, and excellent infection control knowledge
  • Complies with Infection Control, Standard Precautions and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional
  • Knowledge of reusable surgical instrumentation, microsurgical instrumentation, and power equipment
