Job Description
THE POSITION

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)- Bureau of Air Quality is looking for a Statistician 2 to work as a liaison between Field Operations, Central Office, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the public for all areas of data reporting and management and evaluating conformance with procedures, guidance, and State and Federal regulations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This is a technical position within the Bureau of Air Quality that supports the statewide air quality program and involves working in statistics and information systems management as it relates to the field of air pollution control, ambient air monitoring, stack testing/continuous emissions monitoring, and air resources management. The employee in this position works in the planning, development, and coordination of statewide efforts to achieve data management and compliance objectives in Bureau programs. The employee acts as a liaison between Field Operations, Central Office, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the public for all areas of data reporting and management and evaluating conformance with procedures, guidance, and State and Federal regulations. Data processing is an important segment of this position's responsibilities, including the application of quality assurance methodologies and the analysis and interpretation of data.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
  • Full-time employment.
  • You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, 2 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • One year of professional experience in the collection, compilation, editing, and statistical analysis of quantified data and a bachelor's degree; or
  • One year as a Statistician 1; or
Other Requirements:
