Job Description
Location: Remote, CA
Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant plays an integral role in the month-end close process by preparing and posting journal entries, performing account reconciliations and assisting with management reporting packages. This individual will also assist with fluctuation analysis and the preparation of support schedules used for external SEC filings including Forms 10Q and 10K.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist Senior Accountant and above with responding to FP&A inquiries and related reclassification journal entries
  • Roll forward and assist Senior Accountant and above with monthly financial review spreadsheet and powerpoint
  • Prepare various account reconciliations such as intangible assets, legal accruals, audit accruals, corporate accruals, etc
  • Assist with quarterly SEC filings (10Q/10K) by footing documents and preparing support schedules
  • Set up fluctuation analysis of financial statements (B/S, I/S, SOCF) and assist Senior Accountant and above as needed with investigating variances and explaining financial fluctuations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for monthly and quarterly accounting activity such as intangible assets, legal accruals, audit accruals, corporate accruals, etc
  • Perform Ad Hoc requests such as pulling peer filings for competitor analysis
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, multi-tasking, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • 0-3 years of experience in accounting, audit, finance or other relevant experience
  • Self-motivated to independently organize and prioritize workload within a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or related field required

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000. There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
