Staff Accountant

A family operated plastics manufacturing company is seeking a qualified staff accountant. We are looking for a team player dedicated to learning our business and contributing to our success. Candidates should have an aptitude to work in a fast-paced systems-based environment.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

• Assisting the Controller as needed.
• Collaborating with inventory controller to assure inventory accuracy.
• Money movement management and reconciliations in a multiple entity organization.
• Maintaining financial and production reports, records, and general ledger accounts.
• Assisting with the maintenance and utilization of EDI.
• Other tasks/projects as assigned
• Preparing journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
• Serve as a backstop for AP and AR.
• Meeting processing and reporting deadlines.
• Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ability to contribute to forecasting and financial analysis.
• Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or associates degree and equivalent experience required.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Strong independent research ability
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Good problem-solving and time management skills.
