Job Summary and Responsibilities:


Under the direction of the Controller, the Staff Accountant, will be an essential part of the finance team, contributing to the accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions. Your role will involve reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, assisting with audits, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. You will collaborate closely with other departments, providing insights and information that contribute to informed decision-making. Your attention to detail, analytical skills, and understanding of accounting principles will be instrumental in maintaining the company's financial integrity.


  • Communicate regularly with individuals in other departments/locations to ensure all required submissions are completed.
  • Assist with budget/forecast and cash flow planning processes.
  • Assist outside accounting firm with annual review and tax compliance.
  • Review monthly expense reports for compliance, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Review all intercompany accounts and record entries/invoices as necessary.
  • Integral part of month-end close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, analysis and reporting.
  • Other ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company Controller.
  • Ability to identify and implement modifications to processes to improve efficiency within the accounting department and the organization.


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:


  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company information.
  • Strong Excel skills including an understanding of complex formulas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail and deadline oriented with strong organizational and documentation competencies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field, required.
  • Experience with accounting system conversions preferred.
  • 3-7 years of related experience required.
