We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to maintain our financial records. This role will be responsible for all accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including cash collections. The Staff Accountant will create and analyze financial reports to ensure compliance with legal, FAR and CAS regulations. The core duties are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions for our company.
Our ideal candidate is well versed in QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft products (Excel) with a positive attitude. Manufacturing and Job Costing experience are a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Record transactions in the appropriate period and complete all reconciliations by the 10th business day of the month
  • Verify transactions are recorded accurately and within the general ledger and related sub-ledgers
  • Communicate status of open and/or critical issues daily
  • Record day to day financial transactions, including posting
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of the Balance Sheet Accounts, Vendor Accounts and Customer Accounts
  • Must understand the concept of indirect rates to ensure all transactions are coded correctly
  • Process A/P payments, receive and apply payments for A/R
Skills
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
  • Customer service orientation and honed negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office products
  • Efficient data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Proven bookkeeping experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
