Staff Accountant Jobs

The Staff Accountant will take full ownership of the accounts payable accounting function as well as help with accounting projects and general journal entries. They must pay attention to detail to not let important details slip through the cracks or derail a project. This person will manage multiple priorities at a time in a fast-paced environment. In addition, we are looking for someone who is passionate about creating and building processes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs for the organization.

• Monitor and reconcile all credit card transactions
• Support quarterly reviews and annual audits performed by external auditors
• Monitor and reconcile all check deposits
• Calculate and record commissions
• Process all incoming invoices from vendors
• Record all cash outflow transactions
• Provide clerical accounts payable support
• Practice effective monitoring to ensure vendor payments are in timely manner
• Keep prompt and professional communication with vendors
• Complete special projects as needed
• Tie out PO to invoices, input and verify all credit card transactions
• Prepare weekly check runs
• Other duties as assigned by Manager
• Protect business against unintentional overpayment

Requirements
Required Qualifications

• An eye for detail; you triple check your work to ensure accuracy of accounting records
• Highly efficient in accounts payable duties and genuinely enjoys working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
• Ability to interact with both internal and external departments/customers in a positive manner
• Self-starter and strong desire to achieve results
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (can maintain complex spreadsheets)
• Willingness to contribute beyond the defined role to meet our needs as circumstances require
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize/balance multiple tasks in order to meet team goals and deadlines
• Critical thinking skills to identify process improvements and efficiencies

Preferred Qualifications

• NetSuite experience is preferred
• 2 or more years of relevant experience in an AP or general accounting function preferred
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (or related degree)

Compensation: $87,500 - $101,700 annualized salary
Work schedule: Monday - Friday (hybrid: 3 days in office/ 2 days remote); 8:00am - 5:00pm

The compensation range outlined is based on a target budgeted base salary. Individual base pay depends on various factors such as relevant experience and skill, Interview assessments and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements. Steri-Tek offers additional compensation in the form of benefits premiums, 401k matching, and On Target Earning commissions for appropriate positions. Base pay ranges are reviewed each year.
