Your responsibilities as Staff Accountant will include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. This position will also require you to participate in compliance, as well as communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This Phoenix, Arizona based firm has a long-term contract / temporary to hire position available, and offers an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.

What you get to do every day

• Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
• Partake in annual closing processes
• Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
• Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
• Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision
• Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
• Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
• Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
• Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
• Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

Requirements

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Solid understanding of QuickBooks
• Multiple Entities experience
• Spreadsheet and database capabilities
• Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
• Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
• Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
• Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
• Skilled with ERP systems
• Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
• Recent and relevant accounting experience
• Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
