Overview

Intuit’s Finance team drives business growth and profitability through strategic, financial and operational leadership. Our team is comprised of finance, accounting, supply chain, corporate strategy & development and tax professionals that support and enhance Intuit's operating efficiencies.


This is an accounting role as a Staff Accountant with the Controllership, Operations, and Systems Assurance (COSA) organization. Position is located in San Diego, CA. Position will be responsible for revenue accounting entries and related tasks. Successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong accounting skills and the ability to think and act independently, who will take ownership of their areas of responsibility and demonstrate solid decision making skills and the application of judgment in applying generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Working knowledge of Oracle, BRM and Qliksense a plus
  • Background in understanding and applying accounting concepts. Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and the testing of supporting documentation

How you will lead

  • Prepare journals entries and maintain account reconciliations consistent with GAAP and corporate accounting policies to ensure close timelines are met. Ensure accounting entries are properly recorded, substantiated, and communicated with stakeholders.
  • Streamline systems and reporting tools to ensure efficient and accurate recording and proper classification of revenue.
  • Able to clearly articulate results, variances and demonstrate an understanding of root cause to management.
  • Participate in the month- and quarter-end close process and related responsibilities for the accounting department.
  • Effectively assess risk over accounts and areas of responsibility. Apply judgment to ensure that financial integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations are intact, properly supported, and operating effectively.
  • Continually assess and design desk procedures and process flows. Ensure that these work flows are designed to maximize internal controls and efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain reports/schedules for senior management, prepare schedules requested by internal and external auditors.
  • Applies professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to review and analyze the appropriateness and reasonableness of underlying support and documentation.
