Job Description
Position Summary


The Fixed Asset Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining accurate records of company-owned or leased equipment, Machines, Tools, and other properties. This position requires a strong foundation in accounting principles and the ability to utilize computer systems and spreadsheets effectively.


Minimum Qualifications (Education And Experience)


  • Proficiency in computer systems and advanced spreadsheet usage is essential for performing job duties. Basic knowledge of ERP system.
  • Minimum of a 4-year College Degree in Accounting, or Business-related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting role in a manufacturing company


Position Duties And Responsibilities Include
  • Support the financial reporting and budgeting processes as required.
  • Calculate and record depreciation for fixed assets.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Other Assigned Duties (20%)
  • Monitor and document all movements of fixed assets, including acquisitions, location changes, modifications, disposals, and changes to operational status.
  • Fixed Assets and CIP Ledger Management (70%)
  • Assist in the monthly closing process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines.
  • Maintain and update Fixed Asset (FA) and Construction-in-Progress (CIP) ledgers.
  • Financial Reporting and Budgeting Assistance (10%)
  • Conduct biannual plant-wide Fixed Asset Inventory reconciliation.
  • Generate monthly fixed asset roll forward reports and investment tracking reports.
  • Prepare month-end accruals and journal entries related to fixed assets.

Specific Skills And Abilities


  • Accurately calculates and records depreciation for fixed assets.
  • Organizes, controls, and reconciles plant-wide Fixed Asset Inventory twice a year.
  • Generates monthly fixed asset roll forward reports.
  • Accurately maintains the FA and CIP ledgers.
  • Prepares month-end accruals and journal entries pertaining to fixed assets.
  • Provides audit support and budget support annually.
  • Understands the relation among the manufacturing process, fixed asset life cycle, and general ledger.
  • Documents and tracks all fixed asset movements, including acquisitions, location changes, modifications, disposals, and operational status changes.
  • Tracks capital spending and prepares monthly investment reports.
