Job Description

Staff Accountant – AR

Teachers of Tomorrow is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented staff Accountant with a large focus on Accounts Receivable to join our team! The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections and cash application processes. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits packages. The salary range for this position is between 70k-80k.

About the Position

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role of managing the accounts receivable function within the finance department.

  • Participate in the development of the annual budget and forecast for accounts receivable
  • Lead AR related software integration
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Act in accordance with Teachers of Tomorrow core values
  • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and take appropriate action to collect outstanding balances
  • Assist in month end closing process
  • Key Responsibilities (Individual Contributor)
    • Manage the accounts receivable function within the finance department, including overseeing invoicing, collections, and cash application processes
    • Monitor and analyze accounts receivable aging reports to identify delinquent accounts and take appropriate action to collect outstanding balances
    • Resolve customer billing disputes
    • Work with sales and customer service teams to resolve customer issues related to billing and collections
    • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to accounts receivable management
    • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and legal requirements
    • Prepare monthly accounts receivable reports for management

What We are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s preferred
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounts receivable or related field
  • Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Intacct, preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Must be able to legally work in any US company without sponsorship.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
