Job Description

We are currently hiring a Sr. Manager, Learning and Development in Boston, MA .

*A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite according to their teams’ weekly schedule.

The Senior Manager, Organizational Learning and Development will design, develop and deliver personalized, curated, high-impact learning experiences in a fast-paced environment. This role will focus on needs specific to functional groups at Boston Beer Company, including Marketing, Finance, Legal, and People and Culture, as well as having ownership of organization wide programs.

This person will bring a passion for learning, the ability to influence and communicate effectively across our organization, and a bias for action. They will be fluent in current learning technology tools and possess strong project management skills, and will ensure diversity, inclusion, and Boston Beer Company culture and values are ingrained in all learning solutions.

Our ideal candidate will be able to partner and collaborate effectively across our People and Culture team as well as with business groups and external partners to create and deliver content.

What You'll Brew:

  • Proactively assesses coworkers’ development needs and builds creative and consistent ways to address them across organization, department, and individual levels
  • Support the individual development planning process for all coworkers with a focus on emerging and senior leaders
  • Prioritizes a multi-facet approach (e.g., 70/20/10 model), that supports business and people strategies through the development of core capabilities and competencies for specific functions outside of sales and supply chain
  • Partner with the Director, Leadership and Development, as well as the HR Business Partners, to communicate and drive talent and performance management processes, with the focus on developing an engaged and diverse workforce
  • Build, develop, and manage a library of BBC recommended classes and content within the leadership and corporate scope
  • Facilitate virtual, blended, and live learning sessions and workshops; Ensure project leads, Trainers, and designated coworkers’ preparedness for leading, facilitating, and supporting capability building initiatives
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Assess organizational development and training needs of all organizational leaders, as well as functions outside of sales and supply chain
  • Collaborates with directors, managers, and coworkers to facilitate adoption of new programs; Ensure that programs are sustainable, and that accountability and success metrics are in place
  • Identifies targeted learning solutions, in various delivery formats including on the job, digital learning, virtual reality and instructor-led learning
  • Prepare budgetary recommendations that meet departmental goals and provide for effective management of resources, including external vendors and partners
  • Occasional travel to Breweries
  • Assist with the provision of coaching regarding OD methods and tools

What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Intermediate to expert level experience working with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and LMS systems
  • Extensive experience creating and delivering development programs and courses in multiple modalities, including high-touch, face-to-face and live-online using a variety of technologies
  • Deep knowledge of adult learning theories and methodologies, change theories and industry best practices with the ability to apply them to instructional design and learning assessment
  • 8+ plus years of progressive Leadership/Org Development/Learning and Development experience, or related experience
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree
