Overview
This role is REMOTE in Chicago
The Senior Editorial Manager is a critical team member dedicated to defining, evolving and driving Foot Locker’s corporate narrative in a consistent, timely and relevant way across materials and channels for a diverse set of external and internal stakeholders to enhance and maintain the company’s global reputation. In this role, you will lead a team and serve as an editorial leader and connective guide who bridges storytelling priorities and needs between our integrated communications team members and cross-functional departments.
The ideal candidate is a superb copywriter and editor, who proactively seeks to understand the communications needs of our internal partners and works to develop excellent communications materials for internal and external audiences based on information gathering/fact finding, partnership and creative ideation. This individual is a Foot Locker culture ambassador and the lead reporter for the organization, who will help set and calendarize editorial priorities, develop and implement an editorial intake process and roll out a cadence of internal communications for the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Act as in-house writer and editor responsible for the development of excellent, high-quality content that drives engagement and brand love with corporate employees and store team members. Develops company materials with team including: press releases, executive speeches, keynotes, messaging documents.
  • Develop employee value proposition narrative, reinforcing Foot Locker, Inc. values. Be the strategic storyteller by writing and producing content across multiple channels to help employees understand and embrace change and align with broader organizational goals.
  • Partner with the broader global communication team to drive consistent and high-quality communications for external audiences to help them understand who we are and what we stand for.
  • Help elevate and drive a deeper understanding of the company’s purpose, vision, and core values, fostering increased team member pride and connection across the organization.
  • Lead content creation and planning for compelling content and narratives to communicate short and long-term company goals and objectives to inspire and empower team members, including internal town hall programs (virtual and face-to-face) and leadership meeting(s), etc. and build favorable external perception of the organization’s business and CSR efforts.
Qualifications
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to flexibly operate in a dynamic setting and manage content for a diverse set of internal stakeholders
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • A dedicated team player with a keen eye for detail and ability to provide a solutions-based approach to work
  • Ability to work cross functionally and collaborate with all key stakeholders.
  • Some travel required
  • Superior written communications and editorial skills
  • 7+ years of experience in copywriting, editorial or communications field, at a major news outlet, corporation or marketing or communications agency
Benefits
The annual base salary range is $104,000 - $130,000 /year. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary for this position. This role is also eligible to receive short term incentives that align with individual and company performance. Salary will be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Salary is one component of the Foot Locker, Inc. total compensation package, which includes the below:
