The Role


As an essential member of the Global Digital Content team, the Associate Manager, Digital Content Strategy & Editorial will be responsible for understanding our brand, the loyalty program, the value it provides, and the needs of our hotels around the world. You have a growth mindset and love new opportunities that will support our growing and globally recognized hospitality company. This role will be expected to create and edit property site content to support newly opened and upcoming hotels and resorts across the Hyatt portfolio, helping to drive awareness, traffic, and conversion on hyatt.com while maintaining high-quality content standards that adhere to AP Stylebook and internal style guidance. This includes the intake and assessment of hotel information, the preparation of writing assignments for freelance writers, collaborating with various cross-functional teams, managing internal and external dependencies and milestones, and providing copywriting and copyediting support across other areas of Hyatt Digital and Commercial Services. Do you have a passion and an eagle eye for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and all things style and tone? Can you balance several cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment?


This agile and highly collaborative Associate Manager, Digital Content Strategy & Editorial will also need to manage various levels of agency, freelance, and internal (loyalty, brand, corporate communications, regional marketing, legal, field marketing) relationships and deliverables to successfully accomplish the goals of the role. This position will report to the Manager, Digital Content Strategy & Editorial.


Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


  • Prepare, assign, and manage writing tasks and deadlines for writers
  • Adhere to AP Stylebook and internal style guidance, including writing for inclusivity
  • Advise on digital content strategy to cross-functional teams such as Field Marketing, Brand, Loyalty, UX Product/Design, hotels, agencies, and more
  • Identify knowledge gaps across teams and document functional processes that improve workflows and increase efficiencies
  • Develop and edit unique, inspiring digital content that engages and converts users across Hyatt digital channels, including hotel sites, promotional landing pages and campaigns, special projects, and more
  • Provide copyediting expertise for ad hoc projects, where requested
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships, with a focus on problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration to attain our shared goal of providing a seamless guest journey
  • Adhere to a broad range of tone and voice standards across Hyatt’s portfolio of 25+ brands
  • Serve as the final editorial approver on various content types, including new property sites
  • Act as a key stakeholder on cross-functional projects where consultation from the Digital Content Strategy & Localization team is required, including requirements-gathering sessions, functional review, and technical feasibility
  • Approach complex challenges by distilling content into clear, concise, and cohesive messaging by way of creative copy solutions
  • Identify and repair inconsistencies, unintentional POV/tense shifts, and factual errors
  • Communicate with internal and external teams, clients, and vendors regarding project deliverables and details
  • Copyedit for spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation; revise phrasing and repetition where appropriate
  • Drive forward the team’s strategy in maintaining high-quality content standards and outwardly communicating them to stakeholders to maximize efficiencies and share learnings
  • Collaborate with and work alongside special project teams as a subject matter expert (SME), specifically as it relates to best practices and post-launch content management


Qualifications


Experience Required:


  • Self-motivated and results-driven
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator—especially cross-functionally
  • Exceptional command of the English language and scrupulous attention to grammar, punctuation, syntax, voice, and tone
  • Excellent editorial judgment and the ability to distill complex information
  • Experience managing a pool of freelance and in-house writers
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Adobe Experience Manager
  • 5-7+ years of copywriting and editing experience, including proven digital content creation, SEO keyword-based writing, and a proven track record of creating user-focused content for a global audience
  • 3+ years of project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Capable of using tools to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations
  • Portfolio and/or writing/editorial samples required
  • Innovative and forward-thinking, keeping up with the latest marketing, digital/social media, and hospitality/travel industry trends
  • Strong understanding of AP style guidance
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with an ability to multitask, shift priorities as needed, and maintain high-quality output while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment


Experience Preferred:


  • Knowledge of programming languages, such as HTML
  • Experience within the hospitality and/or travel industry
  • Experience with content management systems
