This position will be responsible for the development and execution of innovative integrated communications strategies and programs to support local initiatives. A self-motivated and talented communications lead who will drive internal and external communications for BMS Phoenix including building external engagement within the Phoenix community to support site operations, corporate social responsibility, and a brand as employer-of-choice. The person will be in charge of producing high-quality content and managing local employee events that engage employees and deliver a consolidated change management plan and support culture change initiatives at the site. The role will stay attuned to current operational and project activities and adjusts communication strategy and plan to address changes and emerging issues. The person will also be responsible for building BMS Phoenix brand recognition in the wider talent marketplace.


Major Duties And Responsibilities


  • Develop BMS Phoenix brand awareness in the wider talent marketplace by understanding workforce sentiment and impact of external forces; aligns communications accordingly, e.g. LinkedIn communications.
  • Maintain an integrated calendar of communications considering cadence, timing and tone, creating clarity in our communications channels for the site.
  • Manage cross-functional projects to support business strategies and execution, develop and implement successful strategies to support uninterrupted product supply
  • Build and maintain understanding of core business functions to manage strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Serve as Change & Communications Lead for Phoenix Site Expansion Program to ensure an integrated change management plan that enables change readiness and drives engagement
  • Partner with GPS Corporate Affairs to ensure consistent and compelling local messages and strategies are aligned with them, and ensure recognition and showcasing of the Phoenix site as the GPS and enterprise level to build internal awareness and branding
  • Writes, edits, manages and/or translates creation of local communications.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies and action plans that helps build and drive employee engagement. Components include but are not limited to employee events, business objectives, communication objectives, strategy, tactics, audience segmentation, key messages, measurement, and time & event schedule, surveys & questionnaires, newsletters, and other communications channels.
  • Serve as a “change agent” for the continued education with key stakeholders on Change Management processes and Organizational Culture, best practices, templates, and guidelines.
  • Lead and design employee events and communication forums in partnership with the Phoenix Leadership Team, presenting and moderating at these various local employee communications and events, e.g. Town Halls
  • Establishes metrics for measuring effectiveness of global campaigns implemented locally as well as local campaigns, leveraging them to drive continuous improvement.
  • Supports issues management and policy communications related to employee communications as needed, responding in a timely manner
  • Monitors and analyzes the local industry as it relates to the role to ensure effective and appropriate communications strategies are being utilized in the market.
  • Support local roll-out and translation of enterprise-wide initiatives/communications such as corporate values, pulse surveys, total rewards communications, employee giving, etc.; pulls through all communications related to the people strategy and culture.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with Phoenix LT, business partners and cross-functional leadership in the development of communications strategies for key initiatives.

  • Describe the position's responsibility for taking action, making final decisions and developing recommendations. Limiting factors might include existing policies, laws, regulations, internal controls, etc.


This position acts and makes final decisions on matters related to


  • Prov ides sound, firm and decisive leadership for communications and change management at the site, driving and delivering results locally.
  • Makes different resource allocations recommendations/decisions consistent with priorities, creating new ideas and processes, delivering results, driving for continuous innovation and demonstrating principled leadership skills.
  • Department strategy and short & long-term plans to support the site’s communication, change and engagement plans
  • Compliance with BMS SOPs and policies, and regulatory agencies.
  • Effectively manages resources
  • Describe the nature of supervision received, the degree to which procedures, methods and goals are outlined by the supervisor, and the immediacy of supervision.


Minimum supervision is received for execution of function. Regular communications with supervisor are mainly driven to inform state of the business, deviations from agreed plans, progress on special assignments or projects or critical operational situations.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILL


  • Excellent writing and research skills, with knowledge of AP style and a keen attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • 5+ years of corporate communications experience
  • Superior written, verbal, editing and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English or related field.
  • Experience working with teams to achieve stated goals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Change Management processes.
  • Self-directed with proven ability to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple initiatives of importance.
  • Experience working with sensitive, highly confidential content.
  • Proficiency with digital media and internal/external social media platforms.
  • Ability to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders and to deliver a consolidated change and/or communication plan across multiple media and audiences.
  • Experience in mergers, acquisitions, and other partnership arrangements.
  • Excels in fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Experience in matrixed organization a plus.
  • Expert experience with Microsoft products – Office [Word, PowerPoint], Outlook, SharePoint, and Adobe Products

CONTACTS


The position will frequently interact with the Phoenix LT in operational meetings, business support functions, and strategic planning activities to strategically integrate communication and change management action plans. Occasional interaction with headquarters and division level senior contributors, managers and directors across multiple functions (e.g. GPS Communications, Global Quality, EHOSS, HR, Talent Acquisition, etc.) to assure adherence to manufacturing planning and execution of large strategic projects.
