Account Executive, Communications

The Account Executive plays a supporting role on client teams and is responsible for drafting and completing work from ideation to completion with oversight from team leads. The position has their hands in many projects, programs and campaigns across accounts, and is expected to deliver excellent client work that maps back to business goals.

What You’ll Do:

· Support account teams on client communication to ensure client’s business are being met through various specific projects, programs and campaigns

· Build and maintain trust with clients through new and established relationships

· Develop and edit high quality written materials including media materials and pitches, coverage reports, research reports, online content and general team/client correspondence; ensure quality and consistency with appropriate writing styles

· Identify, recommend and secure media opportunities for clients and own opportunity from start to finish (with support from the team as needed)

· Build and maintain a network of traditional and online media and influencer contacts

· Manage and conduct research projects and provide first draft of strategic recommendations

· Oversee daily media monitoring and develop detailed analysis for clients

· Identify, recommend and secure speaking and award opportunities

· Supervise Associates and Assistant Account Executives on projects, and serve as mentor to them across accounts

· Represent and staff client/industry events when needed

· Assist with onboarding new team members

· Help teams/agency prepare for new business opportunities through research for the proposal and pitch

What You’ll Need:

  • Excellent verbal and writing skills
  • Experience working with media tracking tools, such as Cision, Meltwater, Trendkite, etc. (preferable, but not needed)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • B.S. in Communications or related, advanced degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in public relations, media relations, corporate communications, project management (can be combined)
  • Strong understanding of the broader media landscape
  • Experience mentoring individuals
