Position Summary

The Global Mobility Senior Manager will play a critical role within the HR team, leading Under Armour's programs within the Global Mobility team to deliver a superior experience to mobile associates. This individual will support teammate moves and expatriate assignments through lean global processes and maintain effective governance and compliance with relevant policies. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of Mobility and Expatriate Tax programs and the ability to build sustainable business relationships to advise and support various senior stakeholders (i.e., senior leadership, HRBPs, Director of Payroll, regional cross-functional business partners).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • The person in this role is to be flexible in his or her understanding of the role and to be able and willing to adapt if additional areas of focus/responsibility may arise
  • Partner with the Sr. Director of Global Compensation & Mobility to define the vision, purpose, and overall strategy for Global Mobility to enable Under Armour to achieve its business and talent objectives
  • Manage all aspects of the Expatriate Tax program, including direct oversight of external global tax preparers, shadow, and hypothetical payroll processes, tax equalizations, equity sourcing, and coordination with Finance and Accounting.
  • This role does not have any direct reports
  • Design sustainable and scalable process improvements to provide consistent positive employee experiences; this includes defining and collecting service metrics, identifying root causes and improvement opportunities based on data, and managing the relevant budgets
  • Ensure an in-depth understanding of relevant market trends and practices
  • Develop and oversee a rigorous and consistent approach to ensure UA remains compliant with rules and regulations at every level
  • The successful teammate should respond to changing organizational needs and view them as an opportunity to grow and develop a varied portfolio of career skills
  • Design and implement policy, process, technology, and vendor management and improvements for Global Mobility and Expatriate Tax programs by identifying business needs, anticipating changes in both our business and the market, and ensuring competitive market positioning and visibility
  • Work closely with other internal teams such as Compensation, Equity Administration & Benefits, Payroll, Accounting, Finance, Legal, and Talent Acquisition
  • Manage external partners and professional services, tailored to UA’s needs

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Ability to design processes, define key measurements, and implement scalable solutions
  • Excellent executive presence
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, self-driven, capable of interpreting company data to help shape decision making
  • Highly collaborative style, elevated leadership capabilities, and consultative and people management skills across geographical boundaries and culture
  • High level of discretion, confidentiality, and ethics

Education And / Or Experience

  • Proficiency in expatriate tax; including hypothetical tax, shadow payroll, tax equalizations, equity sourcing, and related tax gross-ups of company-paid taxes
  • Solid understanding of foreign individual tax concepts
  • At least 7+ years of experience in global mobility
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or similar a strong plus

Other Requirements

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD
  • Return To Work Designation: Three (3) days per week in-office, the remainder of work week remote

  • Base salary range: $127,777.00 - $175,693.10 USD


Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual’s relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
