Your Opportunity + Impact
The Sr. Landscape Architect Design Associate will be responsible for the overall development of master planning, programming, and conceptual design documents, and graphics. This position may require domestic and international travel to a variety of locations for hands-on work with clients. Examples of projects that the Landscape Designer will be responsible for are: Landscape Plans, Master Plans, Building and Site Conceptual Designs, and site condition assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the preparation of proposal and business development efforts
- Manages and researches planning requirements and standards
- Develops CAD drawings and conceptual 3D models to assist with the visualization of master plans
- Develops technical skills and assists the project team with drawings and drafting in the creative design process
- Leads internal and external project review meetings
- Applies a knowledge of urban and transportation planning principles, best practices, and techniques of planning
- Uses knowledge of the general concepts of landscape design including site inventory and analysis, conceptual design, and design development
- Serves as a facilitator during workshops
- Performs a variety of tasks related to the collection, analysis, and interpretation of a variety of quantitative and qualitative data to prepare reports and maps
- Leads field evaluations and assessments
- Assists the project team with the preparation of project documentation during all phases of design, such as project graphics and exhibits, site grading, paving designs, walls, structures, site lighting, planting and irrigation design, as well as layout of land uses for buildings and other facilities.
- Assists in the development of designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats
- Supports team leadership roles to aid project execution
- Prepares or reviews written and graphic reports
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in position relevant Engineering field from ABET accredited school, Landscape Architecture, or related field of study.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years’ job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with transportation, federal, or master planning projects.
- A strong working knowledge of relevant drafting/rendering software, such as SketchUp, Photoshop, and InDesign. Experience with Rhino and Lumion is preferred.
- Possess proficient sketching abilities resulting in strong conceptual designs.
- A strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D is a primary requisite.
