Job Description
Overview:

Merrick & Company is seeking a candidate with up to three (3) years’ experience in a Landscape Architecture office or a college graduate with an accredited degree in Landscape Architecture for an entry level position in our growing Charlotte, NC office.

Although office experience is not required, preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a history of success in an office or classwork and/or a completed internship in a Landscape Architecture office setting. On a case by case basis, Merrick offers a hybrid work environment with the flexibility to work from home and in the office.

Typical salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $72,500.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

The position will provide an opportunity to gain both design and technical experience in the field of landscape architecture. The employee will be participating in a variety of landscape architectural and land planning projects.

The position requires the following:

  • Strong graphic communication skills both by hand and digital means

  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality
  • Work within a team on various project related tasks
  • Strong organizational skills
Required Experience
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Bachelor’s Degree in landscape architecture, land planning or related discipline from an ASLA accredited school is required
  • Local candidates preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred
  • Relocation assistance will be considered
  • Zero (0) to three (3) years experience in Landscape Architecture
  • Include portfolio when applying
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture from accredited school is a plus
  • Knowledge of PhotoShop, InDesign, and SketchUp is a plus

  • Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors without getting distracted.
  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
  • May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
