This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Sr Inspector for our Valhalla, NY and Norwalk, Connecticut office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

• Review plans, shop drawings and approved submittals for construction.
• Willingness to work in a variety of weather conditions and nights work and weekend work possible
• Perform testing and sampling of materials and products used in construction. Ensure compliance with approved materials/specs.
• Writing detailed daily inspection reports including in place measurements, as-built sketches, quantity calculations and tracking of manpower/resources.
• Reviewing site conditions, material placement, adherence to safety plan.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform QC/QA inspections of contractor operations for conformance to plans, proposals and specifications

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years of experience of inspection work on heavy highway projects
• Ability to read plans /specs and prepare written contract administration documentation such as daily narratives (work reports), controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work, keep track of work in place totals for all items of work including contract work, unit price work, extra work, and time and material work on a daily basis.
• Advise senior staff of potential differences in field conditions and overruns.
• Past experience with NYSDOT/NYSTA/CTDOT/Municipalities.
• NICET III or BS in Engineering

Strong oral and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and Site Manager

• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
• Drivers license and ability to commute to project sites
• OSHA Safety training

Preferred Qualifications

• NETTCP Soil Certification
• ACI Certification

Compensation and Benefits:

WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.

Expected Salary: $66,100 - $126,900
