Responsibilities


The Senior Industrial Engineer is responsible for ideating, developing, supporting, and executing projects that will improve our warehouse operations


  • Develops engineered standards using MOST
  • Supports the training, deployment, and enhancement of global stock management tools to U.S. sites (e.g., heat map) in support of improvement projects
  • Understanding of 3PL warehouse pricing structures
  • Minimum 7 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Analyzes client data from one or more sources and develops order profiles, inventory profiles, and ABC analysis; may also perform more advanced analysis such as market basket analysis
  • Leads the development and training of various aspects of the Stock Management Academy such as Lean, warehouse best practices, etc.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50%
  • Ability to extract, clean, and analyze millions of records of data
  • Ability to effectively communicate process and technical concepts to a variety of audiences from entry level warehouse employee to executive level
  • Using internal pricing tool, develops financial pricing models in support of our business development team for new greenfield sites or renewals of existing business
  • Other duties as required and assigned
  • Knowledge of WMS feature/functionality (ideally Manhattan)
  • Ensure sites are uploading current improvement projects properly into the CI database and working with Ops to validate/quantify expected benefits
  • Strong knowledge of IE / Lean tools and principles as applied to warehousing
  • Must be PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, etc.)
  • Researches and maintains knowledge of emerging industry practices
  • Collaborates with IT and Operations teams by providing necessary data on locations, zoning, pick path sequence, etc., to in order to update WMS configuration files
  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business management, logistics, or other related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Leads detailed engineering process on facility/WMS/process/operational changes, from conceptualization to implementation; develops process flow maps, develops material storage and handling specifications, set up and leads internal and external collaborative meetings, works with vendors to obtain quotes (if necessary), generates detailed, engineered layouts in AutoCAD LT or SketchUp, and manages full project lifecycle by leveraging project management software such as SmartSheet
  • Collaborating closely with other functional groups, develops analytical models and business cases to show the financial return, operational gains, service metrics improvements, and customer benefits for recommended improvement ideas
