ABOUT THE POSITION

Columbia Sportswear's dynamic global supply chain consists of 4 distribution centers, 430 retail stores, 80 apparel, and 20 footwear factories worldwide. We pride ourselves on getting products to market quickly, safely, and in the most cost-effective manner. By leveraging data analytics, we are constantly pushing to make smarter business decisions and identifying innovative ways to make Columbia Sportswear's supply chain more efficient and effective to meet our consumers' ever-changing needs.

The Sr. Global Demand Planner is responsible for forecasting global demand across regions and channels and providing analytical insights across the enterprise. From Product Creation and Go-To-Market (GTM) processes through seasonal execution, this role creates and leverages analytics to lead and inform cross-functional decisions related to product assortment strategy, tracking key performance indicators, and inputs into Supply Chain decisions. This role is accountable for driving a consensus Global Demand Plan for defined categories considering multiple data and cross-functional inputs. Additionally, this role executes global order confirmation and demand/supply matching process while administering global order management policy responsibilities. Individuals in this role may also expect to participate in continuous improvement activities and/or projects representing the functional team.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Operate as a key business partner supporting the product line plan development process, in collaboration with Global Merchandising, through style productivity and historical performance analysis
  • Participate and lead internal and cross-functional business process and analytics continuous improvement efforts and/or projects and initiatives
  • Facilitate analysis for the long-range forecasting process for improved supply chain and manufacturing planning
  • Drive forecast process improvement and best practices with key business partners to measure and improve forecast accuracy metrics season-over-season/year-over-year
  • Facilitate and maintain the Global Order Management policy
  • Provide analysis related to seasonal hind-sighting, product line architecture strategy, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), and assortment optimization informing decisions related to product and supply chain execution
  • Conduct operational reviews with Global Merchandising, Global Finance, and key business leaders and/or executive leadership
  • Responsible for the Replenishment Lead Time process, global stock transfers, defined seasonal set up tasks, and projects as assigned related to the global order confirmation process
  • Partner with Global Finance on the seasonal financial targeting process and collaborate with Global Merchandising to reconcile a global, omni-channel forecast

YOU HAVE

  • 5-8+ years’ professional experience in enterprise and/or global planning, forecasting, supply chain, analytics, and/or related fields
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Management, or other applicable discipline
  • A deep knowledge of the concepts and theories of demand planning, the apparel/footwear industry, and the global marketplace
  • Strong understanding of order management processes with Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) systems
  • Strong forecasting skills with Blue Yonder or other related statistical forecasting applications

YOU ARE

  • Able to collaborate and influence others across various levels, regions, and cultures
  • Highly competent at analyzing data through Business Intelligence and building visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau experience preferred)
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, with moderate experience using other Microsoft suite applications
  • Proactive and assertive in follow-through with business leaders, colleagues, and partners, including a high degree of self-direction
  • Able to evaluate data and translate to decision makers through storytelling
