Job Summary
As Senior Director of Product Development, you will be responsible for leading the Product Development and Packaging Design & Engineering teams at Funko. You will be responsible for the end-to-end roadmap, prioritization, and communication of Funko’s product creation.
This role leads enterprise-wide initiatives and partners with functional and cross functional teams to identify and implement organizational initiatives to ensure company meets its strategic goals and continues growth. Must be an effective collaborator, who will organize, lead, and facilitate cross-functional project teams, develop recommendations for innovating end-to-end enterprise process and work closely with key senior leaders to effectively implement change.
The ideal candidate will set the vision, strategy, and priorities for the Product Development team, while fostering relationships with cross-functional leadership. Working with other senior executives on long-range business growth strategies, you will develop a Product Development strategy and cultivate optimization in cost, risk, and lead-times for global distribution while providing industry-leading best practices.
Ideal candidates will have a role-up-sleeves attitude with experience in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, solid understanding in the creative and product development processes including operations, sourcing, procurement, and planning. A strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence.
You will also have responsibility for in-season product development, leveraging your industry expertise in manufacturing and cost drivers to maximize merchandise productivity and profitability, and to drive meaningful progress on company sustainability and goals.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to motivate and influence others to achieve success and provide career mentorship and growth development opportunities for direct reports
  • Has functional in-depth knowledge of product development life-cycle
  • Provide direction and inspire the team to ensure the development and product creation process is synergized with a focus on the results
  • Lead in the execution of key product including owning short to mid-term (1-3 years strategy execution and operation direction
  • Manage multiple teams lead by Directors, Senior Managers, and/or Managers
  • Coach and mentor team members to ensure consistent team development and growth
  • Overseas work and strategy of department teams and ensures alignment with cross-functional business teams and overall business goals and strategies
  • Participate in the annual budget process and manage the departments needs according to the approved budget
  • Has a strong leadership understanding, strategic aptitude & ensure Product Development team delivers on-time products
  • Manage enterprise-wide cross functional teams across multiple complex projects
Qualifications
  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing priorities and projects.
  • Experience in strategic project planning and implementation including business requirement generation and process analysis & design
  • Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Design, Engineering or Equivalent (In lieu of a degree additional yrs. direct experience may be considered)
  • Experience in developing strong relationships with top senior executives to gain their sponsorship and partnership
  • In depth knowledge of product creation systems and tools
  • 10+ years of related experience as a leader in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment, such as apparel, footwear, and manufacturing.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and developing cross functional teams
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, lead and partner across functions and teams.
  • Experience managing and leading multiple teams
Salary Information
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $150,375 - $200,500 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
