Skyworks Solutions Technology and Manufacturing group (TMG) is looking for a passionate and skilled engineering leader to interface with our various design engineering groups to develop and qualify new technologies that enable industry leading performance and reliability, and to ensure all new products are prepared for high volume ramp with perfect quality.


The Role


Location: Irvine, CA


We are seeking a seasoned technical leader with a background in product design and/or technology development of RF, Analog, Digital or Mixed Signal products with a desire to own end-to-end processes for both new technology and new product introduction.


This role will require strong leadership skills that will be exercised across multiple engineering teams including product design, packaging design, wafer fabrication, product engineering, test engineering, program management, reliability engineering and failure analysis engineering to qualify new technologies and to transfer new products into high volume manufacturing.


Responsibilities


  • Continuous improvement of the New Product Introduction process
  • Support to Design, Test and Product Engineering teams to drive continuous improvements in efficient production test requirements, ATE hardware design to requirements
  • On-time new product ramp to support customer demand with high yield, appropriate test coverage and test time with zero test escapes and zero field returns
  • Continuous improvement in appropriate production test coverage
  • On-time new technology qualification to support customer sampling and production ramp
  • Continuous improvement in high performance ATE hardware to support ATE test requirements
  • Technical direction of a talented and diverse group of Project Managers, Design, Product, Test, Reliability and Failure Analysis Engineers
  • Continuous improvement of the New Technology Introduction process


Qualifications


  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project completion
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Background of RF, analog, digital, mixed signal or new technology development
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Track record of building strong cross functional relationships resulting in effective support of new product and technology programs by key contributors outside of the primary TMG reporting structure


Education Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 14+ years of product development, technology development and/or high-volume production assembly and test engineering
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 12+ years of product development, technology development and/or high-volume production assembly and test engineering


The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $172,000 - $360,200 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
