Job Description
Job Summary:

Negotiates, implements and maintains a diverse group of complex contracts with outside providers and vendors in the areas assigned. Accountable for creating a culture of compliance, ethics and integrity. Maintains knowledge of and assures departmental compliance with Kaiser Permanentes Principles of Responsibility and policies and procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements and accreditation standards. Responds appropriately, including required reporting, to observed fraud or abuse.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Incorporates information technology for effective contract management, data analysis, forecasting and reporting.
  • Coordinates implementation/administration of new contracts and coordinates administration of existing contracts; provides input and solutions for resolution of contractual issues.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Claims and Referrals Administration and KP Colorado Springs.
  • Maintains relationship with current contract providers and vendors to resolve problems.
  • Negotiates financial and operation issues with providers and practitioners for the development and implementation of often complex contracts.
  • Analyzes perspective agreements and recommends action.
  • Acts as senior regional consultant to departments regarding contracts and agreements with community delivery systems.
  • Reviews key contract provisions with Medical Group and Health Plan staff and obtains buy-in and approval of key provisions.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience involving quantitative and financial analysis and the management of contracts.

Education
  • Bachelors degree in business, health care administration or related area OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.

License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A

Additional Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of budget management, negotiating skills and contract language.
  • Significant knowledge of health care reimbursement methodologies required.
