About Credit & Fraud Risk Finance


Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) Finance team delivers fact-based, decision-driven and high-impact Net Loss Provision forecasts and credit-risk related insights and deep analytics. The key objective is to drive prudent financial decisions and support credit-risk strategies while ensuring adherence to governance and controls. This position will be part of a highly talented team with strong intellectual curiosity.


About the Senior Analyst role:


Description:


The team supports regional Finance teams, Risk Management, and Marketing teams on all aspects of Loss Provision. Our key responsibilities include: Planning, Forecasting, & Reporting - Build financial forecasts for Net Loss Provision to aid in investment decisions. Communicate monthly results and highlight key drivers of change to better enable long-term planning.  This position will be part of a highly talented team with strong intellectual curiosity. Our team is excited about solving business problems through data and insights.


How will you make an impact in this role?


  • Provide thought leadership in development/enhancement of Recoveries Forecasting models as well as strategic business analytics
  • Support Provision specifically recoveries Forecasting & Results Analysis of our International Card portfolios, through close partnership with Chief Credit Officers in the regions
  • Develop and present key analyses and monthly recoveries results to senior management
  • Work cross-functionally on projects across the Risk Finance organization to help AXP meet its long term growth targets


Qualifications:


  • Proficiency in SQL, Hive/Yellow Brick required; Python preferred
  • TM1, Tableau, Power BI or other visualization tools experience is strongly preferred
  • Advanced excel modeling skills and high level of proficiency in PowerPoint are required
  • BS/MS in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science
  • Previous card/risk management experience and/or 1+ years of work experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience working on financial analytics using large amounts of data

  • Highly motivated individual with desire to work on ambiguous projects, with the ability to break down and execute on complex ideas
  • Be data-driven, outcome-focused and fast learner
  • Ability to solve ad-hoc business problems independently and manage multiple priorities and projects while adhering to deadlines
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail
  • Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts

Range: $55,000.00 to $105,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
