Job Description
Your Opportunity as Specialist, Quality Assurance

Location: Scottsville, KY

Report To: Assistant Quality Assurance Manager

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site
In This Role You Will:
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Act as food safety team leader, coordinate and lead the food safety team and overseeing the food safety management system and management review
  • Back up to Quality Specialist, Sanitation with all activities necessary for the cleaning and sanitizing of the entire plant including bakery, sandwich making, packaging, storage, and waste areas
  • Create, document, and implement criteria and procedures.
  • Coach and mentor, the Foreign Material Elimination Teams
  • Lead, develop, and maintain the Food Defense Program and Team
  • Reviewing, trending, and communicating departmental results
  • Involvement of sanitation training upon employee hiring, as needed, and annually while ensuring completion, understanding, and follow-through of material
  • Collaborate and communicate with Production and Quality functions to ensure food safety activities are implemented in an effective and efficient manner
  • Assist with federal and state agency audits to ensure plant compliance

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree of science or related experience is required
  • The individual in this role must be comfortable working proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment that is subject to working evenings, holidays, and on-call status
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
  • Adjusts daily work as needed to meet sanitation requirements
  • Strong computer skills – word, excel, power point, etc.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and listening skills
  • Experience directing and managing vendors
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of allergens, microbial contamination, chemical safety, sanitation, quality systems, and HACCP
