By working closely with the US government and coordinating grassroots advocacy efforts, our Corporate and Government Affairs team represents United on public policy and legislative issues. Key Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for supporting United's Environmental Program Managers in maintaining accurate environmental recordkeeping and assisting with environmental sustainability efforts. Must handle an accurate accounting of records, equipment and their management under state and local regulations, and interface amongst internal collaborators.

  • Solution oriented and committed to creating and sustaining a culture of continuous improvement and innovation
  • Responsible for processing environmentally related invoices and ensuring vendors are paid in a timely manner, supporting Coupa and working with Accounts Payable
  • Assist with data management associated with various programs, including the aircraft drinking water program, chemical management, waste management and compliance with other state and EPA regulations
  • Support monthly forecasting and management of liability reserves for the Environmental Department, including working with stakeholders in other departments
  • Responsible for developing individual career development and training plans with leader
  • Support other duties as needed
  • Support EN Sustainability Team with Sustainable Aviation Fuel invoicing of corporate customers and SAF certificate issuance reconciliation process
  • Models integrity, possesses self-awareness and fosters an environment of accountability
  • Will be held accountable for providing constant and transparent communication to their Leadership, Stakeholders and Customers
  • Assist in management of data for sustainability efforts
  • Provide thoughtful decision making and guidance in strategic implementation of United’s approved projects
  • Establish individual goals that align with departmental goals
  • Assist California Air Compliance Manager in recordkeeping and compliance in multiple locations related to permitting ground support equipment (GSE); collaborate with California Air Resources Board to facilitate compliance

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Proficient computer skills including WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, SharePoint and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates strong people, planning and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of airline industry and awareness of general environmental regulations
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Understanding of ground support equipment types and uses
  • Awareness and use of FleetFocus, or experience with other platforms
  • Experience with environmental regulations
  • Science/Engineering Degree
  • CARB and California air district-specific air regulations, knowledge of chemical safety data sheets (SDSs)
