Job Description
ANDOVER CENTRAL SCHOOL is seeking applicants for the following position:
Special Education Teacher
Required Application Type: Teacher / Admin
Salary/Pay Scale: Per current Andover Teachers' Association Contract

Anticipated Elementary Special Education Teacher
Closing Date: Ongoing until position is full
Responsible for working with children who have disabilities, including cognitive, emotional, or physical disabilities, within an elementary school setting. Teaches disabled youth life skills and basic literacy and modifies general education curriculum to meet the child's needs. Develop and review an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student, set individualized goals and track them and communicate with parents on child’s progress.
Civil Service Title: Elementary Special Education Teacher
Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Valid NYS Certification in Special Education (Grades 1-6)
OSPRA Fingerprint Clearance (see below for more information).
