The Solutions Architect - Warehouse Operations is responsible for solution architectures and designs for their assigned areas of focus that are responsive to business needs, while being consistent with long-term architectures of the IT department. The Solutions Architect is responsible for evaluating and selecting the technologies required to support solution plans as well as managing vulnerabilities within those solutions. Technology focus will be mainly aligned but not limited to Warehouse Operations including ERP, WMS, Voice, Proof of Delivery, and Warehouse Automation. Current technologies include Korber Highjump, As400 iSeries, Honeywell Vocollect, SAE, Fortna, Opex most managed within Microsoft Azure.
The Solutions Architect will have a broad range of skills and experience within the assigned functional or technical area of focus. They perform complex requirements gathering, and will have the insight to make the connection between a customer's specific business problems and technical solutions, the customer-facing skills to communicate that connection and vision to a wide variety of technical and executive audiences, and the technical skills to be able to not only build demos and execute proof-of-concepts but also to provide consultative assistance on architecture and implementation.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and other IT teams to deliver application requirements and inform cross-functional teams of new feature technical design, technical requirements, limitations, and implementation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and support delivery outcomes. Collaborate with Enterprise architecture ensuring that solutions are in alignment with the overall EA and Technology strategy.
  • Provides leadership and leads large project technical teams to deliver integration, operations or performance relating services. Technical lead for projects within assigned functional or technical areas of focus
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Ability to create professional Business and Design documentation, including a full range of Architecture framework artifacts
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies/industry trends, analyze enterprise specifics and provide architecture recommendations, options and pros/cons on potential changes to the core platform(s) and the related software applications as part of the solution design process for new projects
  • Analyze, coordinate, review, and integrate the deliverables of solutions architecture into enterprise architecture. Guide teams through implementations and upgrades; contributing to the effective management of risks and issues associated with Solution designs
  • Be able to flex between waterfall, agile and hybrid project delivery methodologies as appropriate
  • Work with Development Teams throughout systems development lifecycle to ensure detailed design of the solution matches the higher-level architecture, and that the solution is developed in a manner that is scalable, adaptable and in sync with emerging advances in domain and PFG's changing business requirements.
  • Analyze and determine root causes for solution failure across people/process/technology domains.

Required Qualifications
WMS, ERP, or closeley related experience
5-7 years IT experience
The ability to build strong relationships internally and externally Extremely focused, disciplined, and professionally persistent. Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills - both verbal and written.
Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field or 5 - 7 Years experience with Enterprise technologies (i.e. IIB/MQ, Informatica, iSeries, .Net, Java, etc..)
3+ years as a Solution Architect.
We are open to more experienced candidates, in which case we will add additional responsibilities to the role.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's/MBA
7 - 10 Years with Enterprise technologies
Some project management training is preferred
