Job Description
Systems Engineering Group, Inc. (SEG) an Axient company is seeking a SolidWorks Design Engineer with a TS/SCI to do cutting edge flight and flight envelope analysis on the latest worldwide threats.


The Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) is a core element of the Navy’s Information Warfare Community whose goal is to gain and hold a decisive information advantage over America’s potential adversaries.


ONI collects, analyzes, and produces relevant maritime intelligence and disseminates that intelligence rapidly to key strategic, operational, and tactical decision-makers to meet Navy, Department of Defense, and national requirements.


This position is based in in Suitland, MD. A TS/SCI required.


Responsibilities


Responsibilities will include:


  • Generating CAD solid, meshed, facet models, and extracting and analyzing mass properties from solid models.
  • Candidate will be working within the Office of Naval Intelligence to support Level 1 and Level 2 CAD design based off the latest intelligence of assigned world-wide threats.
  • Developing and using cutting-edge tools and techniques to meet the growing demands of missile defense system requirement specifications, design activities and test/verification
  • Candidate will be required to review, assess, and determine key features of various weapons systems as they work to design a detailed level of understanding for the weapon system they have been designed to review.


Qualifications


Required Experience/ Educatio n:


  • Understand and apply fundamental stress analysis techniques to components
  • Experience with configuration management as it applies to engineering documentation
  • The ability to collaborate with technical experts and subject matter experts in a creative and positive manner.
  • Experience supporting the Intelligence Community (IC) is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well through written documentation and oral presentations
  • Active DoD TS/SCI
  • Mid-Level (5-10 years’ experience) with SolidWorks. Experience with Pro-E/CREO and NX desirable.
  • Ability to work independently or on a team
  • The ability to create, follow and adjust a design plan for the creation of level 1 & 2 CAD models from initial assignment to completed documentation.
  • Experience with component design from the detail level through complete complex assemblies
  • Hands-on experience using finite element analysis for system/component design
  • BS Mechanical/Aerospace engineering or in a relevant discipline.
  • Able to identify, select and integrate a wide range of materials into designs
