and Duties

Under the direction of the Digital & Interactive Services Manager (IT Manager I), the Software Manual Tester is responsible for the analytical and technical software test activities necessary to manage the California State Lottery's (CSL) Public Web Site (PWS). Responsibilities include defining and maintaining standards, processes, procedures, requirements management, software testing and debugging using various programming tools and languages, and systematic debugging and testing methods for complex systems.

The incumbent provides documented, well-thought recommendations on manual testing tools and technologies in support of digital and mobile testing, content management, user experience/interface, and accessibility guidelines to preserve the integrity of the Lottery's public-facing applications. The QA/UAT consults with users, administrators, and developers to identify business and technical requirements and perform test activities, including test scenario and test case definition, test automation development and maintenance, test execution, test result tracking, and metrics.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• At minimum at least One Year of Detailed Working Experience with:

- Java concepts and programming

- Extensive debugging skills

- Eclipse

- Selenium

- JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) / Extensible Markup Language (XML) data parsing

- Windows - Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) file processing

- Global Information Tracker (GIT) /SourceTree

- Jenkins

- DevOps

• Verifiable working experience with testing web and mobile software applications.
• Any testing certifications, such as International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB).
• Verifiable working experience with Functional and integration testing experience.
• Verifiable working experience with Performance, load, and stress testing.
• Bachelor-level degree or higher in Computer Science, Information technology with at least verifiable working experience in a software development environment as a software developer.
• Verifiable working experience in a Business Analyst / Project Manager Capacity with a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including a skillset to produce documentation that follows recognized Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Standards for Software and System Test validation.
• Verifiable working experience with Manual functional and non-functional test development using Java & Selenium.
• Verifiable working experience with Accessibility/Usability experience with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)/Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) & Section 508 compliance.
• Verifiable working experience utilizing Bug tracking tools such as MS Test Manager (MTM) and/or Development and Operations (DevOps).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $5,960.00 - $9,643.00 per month
