Supportive housing - affordable housing paired with services designed to help people maintain their homes for the long-term - is widely recognized as a proven and cost-effective solution to chronic homelessness.
But we didn't stop at providing housing. Breaking Ground's programs and services help people experiencing street homelessness - especially those who have been on the streets the longest - to come indoors. Through our Street to Home outreach program and transitional housing resources, we help people get, and stay, on the path to a permanent home.
Reporting to the Director, Software Engineering, the Software Engineer works within the Data Strategy department to provide software and engineering services across the organization. The software provides critical support to the Leasing, Programs, and Property Management teams who work to get and keep our clients permanently housed. The Software Engineer assists with software connections for administrative functions across departments and service areas. The Software Engineer provides support both in the buildout of internal software for the organization as well as integration with external software services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execute on assigned team and individual deliverables
• Assist the Director, Software Engineering, with the assessment and development of the organization’s software
• Write frontend and backend code, manage the design and development of product features
• Integrate software with internal and external systems, break down barriers and eliminate information silos
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Contribute to team and department strategies by engaging with colleagues in team meetings and offering key insights and ideas

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Diverse technical background in evaluating technologies and designing effective software systems
• Experience integrating with external APIs/Software
• Minimum of two years of experience in software development
• Great attention to detail, in both coding and requirements gathering
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in SQL, C#, Javascript, Microsoft Azure Suite

Compensation: $78,000.00 - $85,000.00 / Per Annum
