Position Description


American Tire Distributor’s (ATD) is looking for an outstanding Software Engineer. As part of the most digitally connected and insightful sales force in the industry, you’ll have the opportunity to supercharge your skills by building apps with the Advanced Analytics team and support broad data management and data governance initiatives. You must be passionate about working with cutting edge technologies (including machine learning, deep learning), and be comfortable with implementing end-to-end solutions. You will be working on high impact initiatives to drive growth and economic profitability for ATD and its customers by accelerating current and new offerings. You will work on one or many product teams at any given time. Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, always learning and willing to share their knowledge and experience. Responsibilities include conducting full lifecycle analysis to identify gaps in master data, taking the lead role in driving master data management projects, and is seen as the subject matter expert in one or more data domains. This position requires collaborations with key members of: IT, Advanced Analytics, Supply Chain, Vendor Relations, Finance, Sales and others. The position manages, analyzes, and resolves data initiative issues and manages revisions needed to best meet internal and customer requirements while adhering to data governance standards.


Principal Duties And Responsibilities


  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Produce full-fledged software applications, maintain software, deploy software applications
  • Participate in integration design and recommendation
  • Communicate and influence business partners in MDM best practices
  • Partner with data scientists and functional groups to build compelling user-facing products
  • Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of application system resources
  • Define and implement data quality rules
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Acquire data, profile and clean in collaboration with data stewards
  • Work with key data owners to identify deficiencies and opportunities in data management
  • Communicate and present to internal associates and external parties
  • Analyze and manage 3rd Party and other external data sets
  • Analyze and manage master data across multiple domains such as Customer, Product, Consumer, and Vendor
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques
  • Develop and implement data governance standards
  • Proactively analyze data to increase quality as it relates to accuracy, completeness, consistency, integrity, timeliness, conformity, and validity.
  • Provide recommendations that are solidly supported by data and analysis


Minimum Qualifications


  • Proficient in SQL (Ability to write complex queries profile, clean and standardize data)
  • Ability to envision solutions utilizing enterprise tools, and drives team to adoption and implementation of the solution
  • Defines and builds high quality reusable solutions
  • Software delivery experience in a Cloud/DevOps environment, GitFlow, and containerization
  • Proficient in data analysis tools such as Big Query, PowerBI, and similar
  • Ability to navigate and work within a Linux environment
  • 2+ years of professional experience
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python
  • Provide independent operational support of consistent master data workflow for Create, Read, Update and Delete (CRUD) process.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in implementing solutions in any of the domains such as Customer, Product, Vendor, etc
  • Google Cloud Platform: App Engine, Storage, CloudSQL, Kubernetes, Networking, and Compute Instances
  • Mid-level Project management skills is highly beneficial
  • Creative and innovative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a demanding, fast-paced environment and to work under tight time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to assess the magnitude of the work and provides reasonable estimates for the tasks / deliverables that they own
  • Ability to identify data quality issues and propose data cleansing approaches.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with Python applications
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, accountability, and project management skills
