Software Engineer Jobs

DESI is a student-exclusive rideshare platform launching its first community. Gone are the days of awkward and overpriced rideshare. DESI is recruiting Software Engineers to build and maintain the mobile apps that power our business. You will work closely with several other engineers and report directly to the CTO to develop new features in the apps and support the infrastructure for our systems including databases, analytics platforms, and administrative tooling.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• You are a strong communicator with solid computer science fundamentals
• You have experience with source control, working in agile environments, and performing QA Tests
• You have a collaborative, team-focused, winning mentality
• You have the ability to manage multiple tasks in a demanding and dynamic environment
• You’re an adaptable, attention-oriented, and driven individual who has 2+ years of software development experience
• You have an understanding of app design principles, databases, and APIs

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Utilize critical thinking to identify and diagnose a problem, leading to the development of a solution
• Work extensively with Flutter, Firebase, and Python in a professional development environment on our DESI and DESI Driver platforms
• Apply business insights to adapt to pivots, improvise, and iterate, even when pre-defined specifications are not always available
• Regularly communicate and work with our CTO, UI/UX Designers, Financial Analysts, and additional Software Engineers to make use of technical skills to drive quick iteration towards the ideal product
• Work in a fast-paced, young, and fun culture, inspired to build the next big movement

POSITION BENEFITS:

• A time commitment of 10 hours/week (subject to review and can be increased or decreased by request)
