Position Summary:

A leading global mobility solutions provider, specializing in innovative technology solutions to simplify and streamline the relocation process, is seeking to add a Software Development Manager to join their team. As a manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the software development team to deliver high-quality software products. Your responsibilities will revolve around managing the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, set strategic goals, and implement efficient processes to achieve project success.

Experience and Education:

• Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
• 3+ years of experience in LAMP stack development and related frameworks.
• 6+ years of previous software engineering management experience
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and architecting complex backend systems
• Hands-on architectural or distributed systems development in a PHP open-source environment
• Experience with large enterprise or e-business systems
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the development team, helping them overcome complex challenges and coding issues.
• Define and enforce coding standards and development and deployment methodologies and processes including team agreements.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and take proactive measures to ensure successful delivery within set deadlines.
• Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Ensure that appropriate documentation is created and approved where needed.
• Monitor and ensure platform stability across multiple production and non-production development environments.
• Gain a deep understanding of the current company’s ecosystem, including system integrations, business rules, and operational management flow.
• Lead, guide, support, and manage a team of software engineers of various experience levels to build state-of-the-art components and features while ensuring adherence to development best practices, CI/CD, and automation.
• Maintain top delivery standards by building robust, secure, and quality software that meets the needs of the business.
• Oversee testing processes and work closely with quality assurance teams to maintain high product standards.
• Manage the engineering capacity of the team against delivery expectations.
• Proactively plan and schedule work for the software engineering team.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
