Software Development Engineer in Test

The Test Automation team at IECC is responsible for elevating the output of our engineering teams. As a Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for automating manual test catalogs for infotainment systems as well as designing and implementing new tools for improving the team’s efficiency. To drive the business, the IECC relies on a growing suite of internal applications. These applications help us plan our projects, communicate our research output, and manage our research fleet. We continue to evolve the deployment of these applications, from on-site systems to public and private cloud environments. This position is also responsible for owning these custom applications, ensuring that they scale effectively to meet the usage demands of the organization as well as develop feature enhancements from time to time as necessary.

Role responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement new enterprise applications
• Develop and maintain automation test frameworks
• Automation of test catalogs for automotive products/functions
• Perform debugging, testing and refactoring of existing enterprise applications
• Designing and implementing new tools to improve engineering efficiency

Required Skills

• Strong fundamentals in Python, OOPS, HMTL, XPaths and Page Object Models
• Experience implementing tests written in python, preferably using selenium web driver
• Automation framework design and prototyping
• Web frontend application development incl. familiarity with contemporary frameworks like React and Angular
• Experience using GIT, JIRA and Jenkins
• Experience with developing applications using Atlassian SDKs for JIRA and Confluence
• Experience developing Windows Applications with GUIs
• Experience implementing APIs to develop tools/applications
• Experience with HTML, JSON, REST client, automated Web UI testing

Desired skills

• Strong fundamentals in C++, C#/.Net
• German language skills
• Android Automotive OS/ Android App Development and Software Testing
• Familiarity with identity management services such as LDAP and Active Directory
• Experience with CAN and other automotive buses/protocols
• Knowledge of automotive infotainment
• Passion for cars
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications on AWS and virtual machines
• Database development experience with both relational and NoSQL database types
• Familiarity with authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2 and SAML
• Experience planning and leading SW sprints

• 50% test automation, 50% enterprise application developer

In Belmont, California, the salary range for this role is $95000 -$155000, depending on education and experience.
