Job summary


Amazon Pharmacy is seeking a Software Development Engineer with strong technical competency and a history of delivery to help us develop a new product that will directly impact the Pharmacy customer experience. Our goal is to make Amazon Pharmacy the safest, most convenient, and most customer-centric pharmacy in the world.


As an SDE you will build services and features that allow Amazon Pharmacy to fulfill and deliver medications in a safe, secure, reliable, and scalable way. As a member of our engineering team, you will be at the intersection of the physical and digital world, working to bring the inventory accuracy roadmap to reality.


You will be solving interesting and complex problems at every layer of the stack, and you will be helping to make a real difference for our end consumers. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, clinical, operations, and customer care teams.


Key job responsibilities


In this role, you will work directly with our internal customers to improve their visibility into our systems and their efficiency in service to our end customers. You will be expected to deliver testable, maintainable code to support our ongoing initiatives. Additionally, you will be responsible for participating in design discussions, code review, and communicating with stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications


  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience


Preferred Qualifications


  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
