POSITION OVERVIEW

The Analytics and Customer Engagement business unit within Global Payments is looking for a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to help deliver high quality software on a SaaS platform that provides Gift Cards, Loyalty Programs, and a variety of other Customer Engagement solutions across multiple industry verticals and customer segments.

We are looking for a full-stack developer that provides for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of current applications. This includes the testing, implementing and documenting of the developed code in the quality manner required for production.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops and prepares documents for the design of solutions that meet customer, system and security requirements
• Building and enhancing our core API, user interfaces, and backend processing systems via new greenfield development and supporting legacy systems
• Evaluating existing and new technologies, ensuring our applications utilize industry best practices
• Complies with and helps to enforce standard policies and procedures
• Integrating with existing corporate and partner applications which span multiple languages and frameworks
• Participates in post mortems and create recommendations to eliminate future application errors
• Working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment
• Accomplishes all tasks as appropriate
• Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of their assignments
• Conduct system integration testing of application code to ensure it produces the intended results and to ensure the changes do not adversely impact the intended results of the overall application system
• Writes documentation for Operations to describe installation and operating procedures
• Develops time estimates for systems development and upgrades to existing systems
• Conduct system performance testing to ensure the implementation of code changes does not adversely impact the overall performance of the application system
• Developing high performance and reusable software with excellent test coverage
• Participate in the design of our core products
• Design and implement software solutions based on software requirement specifications

Must Haves:

• Comprehensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
• Experience working with PHP
• Experience working with Laravel framework or similar frameworks
• NoSQL (Mongo or similar)
• SQL databases (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar)
• 4-6 related experience in engineering and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• A track record of success with developing modern APIs
• Technical expertise and debugging skills.
• Experience working with JavaScript, Angular
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

• Good knowledge of design patterns
• Strong knowledge of GIT, ability to troubleshoot and resolve branching and commit issues
• Experience with Docker
• Experience with building highly available systems
