Job Description
  • Collaborate with Sales team in understanding customer needs and in proposing and developing solutions (Rapid Prototyping) to meet these needs.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Support Software Sales to advance the sales process.
    • Assist Biotech Pharma and Academia customers to create Image handling/analysis proof of concept workflows to quantify image data via Zen Blue, ZEN Core, Apeer, Arivis, third party offerings, and leverage predictive service. Enable these activities through direct on-site and remote interactions with customers.
    • Collaborate with PASS and other ZEISS colleagues in offering end to end imaging pipelines including acquisition, and analysis.
    • Support Onboarding and training of customers considering our solutions through a trial license.
    • Work closely with Software Deployment team to ensure efficient handoff and enable that customer expectations are fully understood so they can be met. It is important to align our capabilities and customer expectations before we receive the order and ensure full transparency of expectations afterwards. Close collaboration and team-work with the Software Deployment Team is critical for customer success.
    • Summarize and document the Job to be done and obtain agreement from customer on projects requiring non-standard customization.
    • When required and approved by manager, assist with software product training for internal ZEISS colleagues.
    • Create customized IA scripts, python and/or Matlab programs as needed for “Proof-of-Concept” Sales Proposals
    • Develop talks for sales-marketing workshops.
    • May be required to participate in company events such as product launches, conferences, workshops, in-house technical service trainings (as trainer or trainee).
    • Perform additional functions as required by the business needs and requested by management.
    • Travel mostly in the USA and Canada may be needed up to about 30% of your time

  • Extend and customize image processing and analysis workflows beyond ZEISS software by using Python and MATLAB

  • Your main functions as a Software Application Sales Specialist will include:
    • Contribute to growth strategy in Biotech Pharma and Academia by solving customer problems while showcasing our analysis and data handling capabilities in “Proof-of-Concept” approach with customer or mock data

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • Able to work both independently and within a team.
  • Python and/or Matlab programming skills are a key enabler.
  • Abstract thought and creative mind to be able to solve complex customer problems.
  • Prior Sales or Product marketing experience is helpful
  • Excellent and personable communication skills via phone and or email are needed.
  • IT and computer hardware/software expertise are needed.
  • Can talk with scientists about research projects and implement these into code and results. Scientific writing and statistical experience are also a plus.
  • PhD level or equivalent experience in Imaging in biomedical, physical-optics, or materials science with in-depth analysis knowledge.
  • Three plus years as Post-Doc or relevant work expoerience
The annual pay range for this position is $92,500 - $115,500
The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions. ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
