Job Summary:

Vail Resorts Retail (VRR) is looking for an exceptional leader who is ready to create their own Experience of a Lifetime with us!


Reporting to the Senior Manager of Softgood Accessories & Footwear, this opportunity is an elevated position that will contribute to the success of VRR by developing enterprise wide strategic business plans, driving sales, sell through and overall profitability. Responsible for end-to-end product lifecycle management including assortment plans, promotional product selection and contribution to Retail and Marketing storytelling. Successfully manages work flow through partnering with vendors, planning, replenishment and collaborating with cross-functional partners.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inspire trust and build strong, positive, productive relationships with key business stakeholders internally and with vendors
  • Develop individual Leadership through Vail Resorts sponsored internal training programs
  • Travel to trade shows as necessary.
  • Be an authority in change for cross functional departmental improvements
  • Aligns and supports Vail Resorts Core Values: Do Right, Be Inclusive, Drive Value, Serve Others, Have Fun and Be Safe.
  • Remain current on industry trends/products as well as competitive pressures.
  • Maintains and manages Vendor relationships through effective collaboration, communication and mutual respect.
  • Compliance and participation with Category budgets and overall Open to Buy process.
  • ONE TEAM - develop and maintain strong relationships with the Operational, Marketing and Logistics teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Lead the item level retail pricing through our Price Management Process
  • Effectively own and manage the sales, margin, and turns for assigned categories and locations.
  • Determine category assortments by location and identifies support opportunities through Replenishment process.
  • Evaluate sales trends and create methods for sales growth and inventory effectiveness.
  • Responsible for effectively embracing the companies Leadership Competencies (Re-imagine, Connect, Passion, Out Front, Develop, & Drive)
  • Lead an enterprise mindset while creating inspiring head to toe category on an assortment planner and supporting in-stock opportunities through the Replenishment process
  • Demonstrates solid analytical & financial skills.


Job Qualifications:

  • MS Office Products; Advanced MS Excel Required
  • Familiarity with merchandising/buying programs
  • Bachelors’ degree in related field or prior work experience
  • English fluency both written and verbal
  • 2+ years of buying/merchandising experience, for multiple locations and/or ecommerce in the sporting goods industry.


Preferred:

  • Strong negotiation skills
  • In-depth experience with Microsoft Excel functions (V look up, Pivot Tables, Macros)
  • Leadership development training/experience.
  • Familiar with AS400/ SILVON reporting system


The expected pay range is $59,100 - $79,530 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
