Social Worker-Msw Jobs

DUTIES: Provides professional social work intervention to patients, their families, and community residents seeking assistance from the Medical Center. QUALIFICATIONS: Masters Degree in Social Work with certification from New York State (MSW) required. 1-3 years previous experience in health care setting, preferably a hospital. Current valid registration to practice as social worker in NYS required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Position is moderate requiring both walking and sitting while interviewing patients/clients throughout the hospital. Ability to bend, stretch, reach, handle/finger delicate objects. Excellent verbal and auditory skills required for communicating clearly and effectively with patients, physicians, families, care team members, other hospital departments. Manual dexterity required to perform documentation tasks.
Near visual acuity required for preparing and reading reports/papers. Ability to cope with physical and emotional stress.
