Social Worker Assistant Jobs

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The social work assistant for the MAYS program will be responsible for providing support to PrEP patients including counseling and risk reduction. This associate will also be responsible for managing each patient’s non-medical support needs. The social work assistant will provide education to patients who are candidates for PrEP and will follow their progress through the program. The associate will provide targeted adherence counseling, assist with medication management, explain the symptoms of acute HIV, and other specifics regarding PrEP use, including adherence. This associate will ensure attendance at all appointments and scheduled HIV testing, provide risk reduction adherence counseling, mental health, substance use screenings/referrals, and routinely reassess the continued need for PrEP support.

This position is 100% grant funded through the BFACC grant and AIDS Institute grant service contracts.

EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree (Social Work or related field preferred)

Three years' work experience
