Due to our continued growth, we are looking for qualified Telecommunication Field Technicians to join our team in Midland, Texas and support our Smarthand program.
We can offer you the ability to earn up to $70,000 annually, with opportunities for advancement and increases as you grow your knowledge base. We provide the training and on-going support required for you to be successful.
As a Smarthand Field Technician, you will be supporting a key iNet customer and delivering exceptional customer experience while installing communications equipment at new customer sites or performing service calls, monitoring customer networks, and installing IT and computer equipment. You will also be responsible for maintaining, testing, and repairing the customer facing network equipment. This position acts as the face of Infrastructure Networks and will be expected to represent the company with the professionalism and expertise our customers have come to expect.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Ability to assist with the guidance and technical development of subordinate level coworkers. Enhance or development of work instructions, how-to and quick start guides to assist with documentation of the same to add to the technician body of knowledge.
- Interact professionally with clients, property owners, contractors as needed. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in person or by phone to convey mission, findings and root cause.
- Respond to help desk tickets and provide timely resolution to user issues.
- Assist with maintaining and updating inventory of IT equipment and supplies.
- Troubleshoot and identify non-functioning equipment and repair or reconfigure or replace equipment, applying own knowledge and experience with little or no outside support.
- Provide support for conference room audio/visual equipment, printers, and other office equipment.
- Provide basic training to end-users on various IT tools and applications.
- Provide desktop support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up new workstations, and performing software installations and updates.
- Assist with the maintenance and configuration networks, and other IT infrastructure.
- Assist with the implementation of new IT projects, including software upgrades and hardware deployments.
What do you need to bring to the table?
- Ability to interpret and understand field sheet notes, schematics, maps, and drawings.
- Skilled with communications systems and a variety of consumer communication devices (e.g. routers, modems, radios, and wireless devices)
- Strong experience with the use hand tools for the purpose of making, repairing, testing and installation of RF, network and telephone cabling to connect offices, housing and work areas to the network resources.
- Flexible to adapt to same-day and next-day changes to service order and location.
- Ability to work with cross-discipline teams.
- Ability to accurately maintain documentation in company software programs.
- Maintain and present a professional appearance, calm and rational demeanor under stressful conditions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey ideas, issues and finding to managers, customers and sales.
- Strong experience installing, pointing and commissioning RF systems components such as LTE, point to point or multipoint radios, LEO or microwave systems.
- Ability to lift rig kit equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with tower work is a pluc
- Expert installation craft practices i.e. cable making, installing, dressing, labeling, with accuracy, neatness and reliability is a requirement.
- Must be well organized and demonstrate sound time management skills.
- Ability to address and solve problems effectively.
- 3+ years of previous experience in direct telecommunications, wireless, basic internet industry, and/or electrical, telephone utilities.
- Military experience in a variety of communications or electronic systems preferred
- Familiarity with tower work is a pluc
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Demonstrated advanced technical knowledge, troubleshooting and repair skills.

Pre-employment Conditions
- Ability to work primarily outdoors in an oil and gas environment in remote locations and drive to and from different job sites - company vehicle provided.
- Completion of a Drug and Alcohol Screening Test
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, evenings, or participate in a shift rotation and on-call rotation when scheduled is required as is reliable and consistent attendance
- Completion of a satisfactory Criminal and Employment Record Check
- Confirmation of a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
