Overview

Responsibilities

• The Telesitter will function under the direction of the Telesitter supervisor or Manager.
• Must be able to take direction.
• The Telesitter is also responsibile for documenting the observed behaviors and need for redirection on paper or in the electronic medical records defined by policy.
• The Telesitter is focused on promoting a positive patient experience by partnering with the patient, family, and other care providers to provide excellence in the patient's experience.
• The Telesitter role will primarily function as a constant monitor for patients requiring continuous observation.
• Must be able to perform under stressful conditions with a compassionate, respectful, and helpful manner.
• The Telesitter's responsibility is to observe and report behaviors that may interupt medically necessary therapies as well as patient safety and/or perceived changes in the patient's condition to appropriate health care team member(s).
• The "always" expectations for these team members are to continuously observe, consistently document, and always provide excellence in customer service through communciation and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must attendand successfully complete the Wellstar training and Initial Competency Assessment within the first 30 days of employment.
• High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited program required.

• Previous healthcare experience preferred.

• BLS within 30 days of employment.

• Ability to collaborate with other healthcare providers in the provision of patient care.
• Ability to function in stressful and emergency situations is essential.
• Ability to read, write, possess basic computer skills, and speak the English language.
• Ability to hear and see alarms and digital readouts.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
