Core Technology (CT) is a global team responsible for the end-to-end eBay technology platform. This platform runs our entire infrastructure and all the services that come together to form ebay.com.

:

• Debug the technical issues and tune performance of the software load balancer (SLB)s and HTTP/TCP layers for eBay’s micro-service architecture. Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Manage eBay’s traffic infrastructure including SLB, CDN, etc.
• Develop automation systems for implementing eBay Traffic management
• Develop and migrate the site from hardware LB to software LB (ipvs+envoy+k8s)
• Ensuring SLO/SLI metrics. Drive reliability focus to define and sustain overall and per component SLO/SLI
• Responsible for tooling for monitoring, troubleshooting, mitigating and restoring the site from incidents and continuously improve the site availability by offering solutions for processes and technical enhancements

Requirements:

• Solid programming experience in languages like Golang, Java, C/C++
• Experience in software load balancer(IPVS, Envoy, Istio, Cilium etc) is a plus
• Good communication skills and can work closely with other teams for feedback, improvements with existing processes and standards
• Experience with Kubernetes, docker is a must
• Knowledge on Operating System Internals (signal handling, QOS, network buffers, memory management etc) and Linux Networking libraries ((TCP/UDP/ICMP etc) is a plus
• Experience working with public cloud is a plus
• Bachelor degree or above in computer science, software engineering, or related majors

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.

$168,400 - $262,900

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
