Job Description
Position: Site CoordinatorLocation: 181 Colfax Ave, Clifton NJ 07013Hours on Site: 10 am - 12 pm (max hours 10 weekly)Time Frame: Paid training starts on June 20; The program runs from 7/5 - 8/18Reports To: NJTC Program Director Subordinate Staff: N/A
BASIC FUNCTION
The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. The New Jersey Tutoring Corps seeks to hire tutors to work with scholars in partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA summer day camps from June to August. Site Coordinators will each be responsible for overseeing work at one site. Placement of site locations may vary. Site Coordinators will be required to be on-site on days in which tutoring occurs.
Essential Functions
  • Completes and submits digital records of Tutor and Scholar attendance, scholar rosters, and site concerns.
  • Uses an asset-based approach in working with all staff and scholars.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Works with the Director to develop strong relationships with the site staff and community.
  • Works with Instructional Coaches assigned to sites to review Tutor performance and provide guidance as needed.
  • Ensures that Tutors have the necessary materials needed to help scholars succeed.
  • Manages the tutor's work schedules.
  • Apprises the Program Director of staff of issues immediately and helps work to resolve them.
  • Fills in for tutors when necessary.
  • Works closely with program staff and participates in weekly meetings with other Site Coordinators.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in teaching
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Meet COVID requirements of the summer camp at which you are working - show proof of vaccination.
  • Past history of overseeing the work of others
  • Final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification.
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in the field of education
  • Mask rules for the summer camp must be followed while indoors.
  • Employer Qualifications:
  • New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience as a paraprofessional, substitute teacher, teacher, and community member who works with children.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
