Job Description

Here at Siemens, we take pride in enabling sustainable progress through technology. We do this through empowering customers by combining the real and digital worlds. Our global, diverse team would be happy to support you and challenge you to grow in new ways. Who knows where our shared journey will take you?

Our Siemens Grid Software team works to accelerate and secure the energy transition. We ensure a reliable, affordable energy supply in a decentralizing, decarbonizing, digitalizing, and all-electrifying energy world. We are looking for an Intern to join our Grid Software team! This is a unique opportunity to work with industry professionals for a minimum of 20 hours per week during the school session, then work 40 hours per week during summer and longer holiday breaks.

This internship will allow you to work with experts in the Energy industry who have developed the software, products, and services that electrify the world! If improving global sustainability excites you, then this internship is the opportunity for you! The goal of this internship is to prepare you to join Team Siemens as a full-time employee once your degree is attained.

This is a remote position exclusively for qualified students in Florida, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, and Texas. Our local business teams in these states will support you throughout your internship.

You’ll make an impact as you:

  • Gather, analyze, and evaluate relevant data to provide comprehensive reports, presentations, and briefings that support Grid Software’s continued success.
  • Assist in the integration of new office technologies and systems.
  • Approach your internship with a growth mindset so you develop a thorough understanding of the business and seek ways in which you personally can elevate the accomplishments of you and your colleagues.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

  • The ability to work in the U.S. without the current or future need of employer-sponsored work authorization. We are unable to consider F1 visa holders for this opportunity unless you are a Canadian or Mexican national whom Siemens can hire with a TN visa upon graduation.
  • Must be enrolled in second year or have sophomore status (or later) at a university—with a Bachelor of Science degree planned in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics. Master’s or doctoral students within these fields of study who have two years of school remaining also will be considered.
  • Attend school in Florida, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, or Texas
  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during school session and 40 hours a week during summer and longer holiday breaks.
  • A home-office setting with broadband internet access.

Great pay as you grow professionally while working on exciting projects:

  • Students earning their bachelor’s degree will be paid $28.50 per hour; students earning advanced degrees may earn more.
