Shop Helper - $18-$25 Per Hour (Everett, Wa) - Co6334

Summary: Under the supervision of the Supply Chain Manager and other department leads, this position will work in multiple departs within the supply chain to help where work volume is highest. This may include delivery and pick up driving with company vehicle, operating saws and other machinery, packaging parts, as well as other duties when needed. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Pick up and deliver orders to outside suppliers using company vehicle. 2. Detects and reports material defects or questionable conditions to the department supervisor. 3. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. 4. Operate forklift, scissor lift, various saws, cutters and other shop equipment and tools. 5. Package parts for transport to outside suppliers. 6. Must be able to learn the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above. 7. Must be willing to accept and receive supervision and assistance with regard to special projects. 8. Must be able to operate with minimal supervision once trained by following work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures. 9. Wear proper safety equipment and comply with company safety rules at all times. 10. Make a positive contribution to maintaining a workplace that is healthy, safe, neat and tidy. 11. Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, vapors, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Full time, Monday through Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm. No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience 1. High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience. 2. Training in general safety awareness and practices. 3. Ability to use/read tape measures. 4. Ability to read and write English, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions. 5. Simple shop math.
