Job Description

Crane Aerospace & Electronics has a unique and exciting career opportunity for a Shipping Receiving Clerk - Contractor at our Burbank, CA facility.

Job Summary:

The Shipping Receiving Clerk stacks and arranges product and packed containers into crates, boxes, and cartons according to instructions or standard documentation. Applies wrapping, labels, and identification as required. Follows all required safety procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure products are properly packed and labeled
  • Organize distribution and shipping of merchandise: Make necessary verifications against documents, prepare the merchandise, move merchandise to the appropriate area, and handle customer pick-ups
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
  • Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for transport
  • Maintain safe and clean working area

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eligibility Requirement : This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations ( ITAR )
  • Knowledge : Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes; Knowledge of 5S principles including the ability to apply them to the work environment; Knowledge of procedures for safely lifting and/or moving packages up to 50 pounds in weight
  • Skills/Abilities : Detail and data orientation; Effective process evaluation and problem solving skills; Ability to multi task in a rapidly changing environment; Ability to maintain positive working relationships with internal customers; Ability to accurately count and identify parts and verify with paper work; Ability to work well in a team setting and under immediate supervision
  • Education/Certification : High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience : 0-1 or more years of Shipping and Receiving experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience performing work according to standard work instructions

Working Conditions:

  • Subject to “On-call” duty
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

Salary range: $19.86 to $29.34.
